Shishikura Izakaya is a small izakaya in a Kyoto alley that serves sashimi, karaage, and sake. The menu is in Japanese only, and the owner, who speaks English well, picks sake and snacks based on your preferences. Arriving before 6 p.m. still led to a full house of four parties by 6 p.m. The owner handles both cooking and serving alone, so food comes out slowly.
