Misoka-an Kawamichiya

Miso Kaan Kawamichiya is a long-established soba shop in Kyoto that has served nishin soba and zaru soba for over 300 years. In the nishin soba, sweet and salty herring pairs with a light broth, while the zaru soba noodles keep a firm chew. Past a small garden inside the old house, seating is divided between tatami rooms and chair seats. The tables in the tatami rooms are low, making long sitting uncomfortable.
