Maidookini Shokudo is a restaurant near Shijo Station in Kyoto where you choose side dishes such as mapo tofu, grilled salmon, and natto along with Japanese home-style food. You pick up a tray, take the displayed dishes, rice, and miso soup in order, and pay at the end; tamagoyaki and omelets are made to order when you ask. Breakfast is available, and lunch and dinner are crowded, but cards are not accepted. Filling plates one by one can make the total cost larger than expected.
