Houzan

Houzan is a soba restaurant near Saga-Arashiyama Station and Togetsukyo Bridge that serves soba and fried dishes. It makes hand-kneaded buckwheat noodles for zaru soba and nishin soba, and the fried items come as tendon or in a set. The menu includes English and photos, and warm tea is poured first when you sit and refilled before the cup is empty. At lunch, seats fill quickly and a long line forms.
