Sakura-no-baba Josaien

Sakuranobaba Josaien is a shopping street at the foot of Kumamoto Castle, a complex reachable on foot from Sakuramachi Bus Terminal. It sells snacks such as ikinari dango, Kumamon-yaki and matcha ice cream, along with ramen and curry katsu, and there are seats throughout where you can eat. The street is small enough to walk through in 5 to 10 minutes, and the inner entrance leads into Kumamoto Castle. Samurai performances are sometimes held there. The food stalls accept cash only.
