Himeji Station is a train station in Kobe where travellers transfer between the Shinkansen and JR lines to reach Himeji Castle. Exiting through the north gate puts Himeji Castle directly in view, with a wide road in front of the station leading to the castle. From the Shinkansen platform, trains passing at 300 km per hour can be seen, and inside the station there is eki soba and various shops. The area around the station is connected by roofs, making it easy to walk even on rainy days.
