Uijeongbu-ji Historical Remains Plaza sits directly in front of Gyeongbokgung. It is the site of Uijeongbu, the highest state administrative body of the Joseon dynasty, where the three chief ministers including the yeonguijeong worked. From the Japanese colonial period until the 1960s the site was used as the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office, and after excavation it was designated a historic site. Visitors can look around for free and use the history exhibition hall and rest area.
