Taewonjeon is a group of royal funeral halls at the northwest end of Gyeongbokgung in Seoul. It is believed to have been built in 1868, and in 1872 it housed the portraits of King Taejo and King Wonjong. In 1895 it served as the funeral hall for Empress Myeongseong. After being demolished during the Japanese colonial period, it was restored to its current form in 2005.
