Pimatgol is a historic alley in Jongno, Seoul, a four-minute walk from Jonggak Station Exit 1, where restaurants and taverns line a narrow street. The name comes from commoners using the back alley beside the main road to avoid the horses of high officials during the Joseon Dynasty, and food options and old establishments remain there today. Before redevelopment, restaurants and bars filled the narrow alley running from Gwanghwamun to Jonggak, and the buildings and traces have since changed substantially. The old appearance and atmosphere of the alley have largely disappeared.
