Hyangwonjeong is a two-story hexagonal wooden pavilion in the northern rear garden of Gyeongbokgung, built as a resting place for the Joseon royal family. It stands on a small island in the middle of Hyangwonji, viewed together with the stone bridge Chwihyanggyo to the north. The interior is normally closed, but a special viewing reservation allows a roughly 30-minute tour with a guide. The entrance to Chwihyanggyo is blocked, so crossing to the pavilion is not possible.
