Heungbokjeon is a historical hall in Gyeongbokgung, reached by walking the path between Gyeonghoeru and Gangnyeongjeon. First built in 1860 during Heungseon Daewongun's reconstruction of Gyeongbokgung, it was where the king met officials to handle state affairs, hold lectures, and receive envoys from other countries. After a fire in Changdeokgung's inner quarters, the hall was dismantled and its parts used to rebuild Changdeokgung, and it was restored again in 2018. The restored Heungbokjeon may appear without dancheong.
