Tenjin Soba

Tenjin Soba is a chicken-broth shoyu ramen shop a one-minute walk from Okayama Tram's Joshita Station and ten minutes from JR Okayama Station. Its chuka soba comes with a dark soy sauce base and chashu that resembles boiled pork, and the shop sells only ramen, so tables turn over quickly. At lunchtime, the wait in front of the shop runs about twenty minutes. The interior is small, so sitting at a four-person table can mean sharing it with other customers.
