Rumeli Hisarı is a fortress in Istanbul built by Mehmet II for the conquest of Constantinople, located on the Bosphorus near the Bebek district. From the site, visitors can look across the Bosphorus to the Asian side and toward Anadolu Hisarı on the opposite shore, and entry is available with the Museum Pass. Due to ongoing restoration, only the central garden and inner courtyard are open, while the walls and towers are closed off. The limited visiting area leaves visitors with a sense of regret.
