Pera Museum is a private art museum in Istanbul that shows Turkish painting alongside modern and digital art. Its collection includes Orientalist paintings, among them Osman Hamdi Bey's The Tortoise Trainer, with exhibitions spread across floors one through five. Admission is free after 6 p.m. on Fridays, and the building has English descriptions, a cafe and gift shop on the first floor, and clean restrooms. The number of Osman Hamdi Bey works on display is smaller than expected.
