Oryori Mashita is a kaiseki restaurant on a side street off Shijo-dori, a short walk from Gion-Shijo Station in Kyoto. It holds one Michelin star and uses seasonal local ingredients, plating each dish with an emphasis on appearance. A course runs about ten dishes over roughly two hours and includes ingredients such as abalone, sea urchin, and yuba. The restaurant is small and sits at the back of a private alley, which makes it hard to find at first.
