Kukuzen

Kukuzen is a Japanese-style small-plates izakaya in Gion, Kyoto, a three-minute walk from Gionshijo Station and close to Hanamikoji. The menu lets diners order a la carte across a wide range, including dolsot oyakodon, uni soba, and seasonal recommendations. Seating is spaced out, with semi-private seats, a first-floor private room, and a bar counter. The food is good, but staff service can be uneven when ordering a course in separate parts.
