Gion Duck Rice

Gion Duck Rice is a basement duck rice restaurant about a five-minute walk from Yasaka Shrine in Gion. Its main dish, duck hitsumabushi, is served by placing thigh or breast meat over rice and pouring katsuobushi broth over it to eat like ochazuke. The katsuobushi broth is poured from a pot at the table, and the process is short. The set with salmon roe and sea urchin has a strong fishy taste.
