Kasagiya is a quiet tea house in Kyoto that serves traditional Japanese desserts centered on red bean paste and rice cakes. The signature item is dango made by steaming non-glutinous rice in a hearth, mixing it with glutinous rice flour, and coating it with three kinds of red bean paste. The shop has continued the same production method since it was founded in 1914, and tea is refilled without limit when a dessert is ordered. The interior is small and dim, and the red bean paste is strongly sweet.
