Matsumoto Sakaba

Matsumoto Sakaba is an izakaya in a back alley near Gion-Shijo Station in Kyoto that serves yellowtail grill, sashimi, and sake. Its signature dish is yellowtail grill with a light straw-fire aroma, served alongside ginger highballs and sake recommended by the staff. The bar carries many kinds of sake, and staff can suggest drinks; smoking is allowed. Being in a back alley, it is hard to find the first time.
