Jingubashi is a bridge over the Yamanote Line that runs from beside JR Harajuku Station to the first torii of Meiji Jingu. It was built in 1920 when Meiji Jingu was founded, and the current bridge is a second version reusing parts of the old one, marked by pillars shaped like stone lanterns. People heading to Meiji Jingu pass over it continuously, and a large pedestrian overpass connects at the station side. The bridge is crowded because of the heavy foot traffic.
