Sungboksa

Shofukuji is a Rinzai-shu Daitokuji-ha temple in Chiyo, near the Fukuoka Prefectural Government office, and is known as the family temple of the Kuroda clan. At the Jizo-in on the left side of the grounds, visitors can offer incense and pray to the Asahi Jizo and the twelve zodiac guardian deities. The Kuroda clan cemetery is outside the temple grounds and is reached by going back to the north gate, and it is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. There is no sign at the entrance, so it is hard to find on a first visit.
