Sumiyoshi Shrine South Gate

Sumiyoshi Shrine South Gate is a shrine entrance surrounded by woods in central Fukuoka. Passing through the south gate leads to a large torii, a pond, a small shrine to Ebisu, and the path to the main hall. Admission is free, and the tree-covered grounds double as a green walking path. At New Year, worshippers line up and enter slowly.
