Nozoki Inari

Nozoki Inari sits within the grounds of Sumiyoshi Shrine in Fukuoka. Visitors lower themselves to look through a small torii into a rock cave, where a mirror reflects their face as they make one wish. Offerings go in the box beside it rather than on the rock. The cave is deeper than expected, so the bending required can be hard on the back or knees.
