Munmu Daewangneung in Gyeongju is an underwater royal tomb set on a small rocky island in the sea, across from Bonggil Beach in front of Gampo. King Munmu, the 30th ruler of Silla, was buried at sea according to his dying wish to become a dragon and protect the East Sea, and the site lies about 200 meters from land. A parking lot, walking path, and observation deck are nearby, and Gameunsa Temple Site and Igyeondae can be visited together with it. Many shamanic houses are in the surrounding area, and gut rituals are sometimes held there.
