Yuil Jangeo

Yuil Jangeo is a grilled eel restaurant in the Gwangsan district of Gwangju. It runs its own farm and serves Pungcheon freshwater eel, grilled over charcoal at every seat. At the entrance, customers pick their eel from a case and pay in advance, after which it is cleaned and given a first grilling. Side dishes are taken from a self-service bar, and a bowl of eel soup with rice comes after the meal.
