Akebono

Akebono is a tonkatsu restaurant in the basement of the Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan in Yurakucho, Tokyo. It serves tonkatsu set meals and katsudon, and customers write their order on a whiteboard outside before entering. The open kitchen in the Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan basement lets diners at the counter watch the tonkatsu being fried from start to finish. At lunch, around ten people in up to four groups may be waiting in line.
