Ginza Chuo-dori in central Tokyo closes to vehicles on weekends and public holidays, becoming a pedestrian-only street. Luxury shops and distinctive buildings line both sides, and parasols, tables, and chairs are set up along the wide roadway. The vehicle closure runs from noon to 6 PM on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, ending at 5 PM in winter. The car-free street does not open on weekdays.
