Cheongmaek Barbecue is an old chicken restaurant in a Seoul alley in Siheung-dong that sells charcoal-barbecued chicken and fried chicken for takeout. The chicken is coated in gochujang seasoning and grilled over charcoal, and it comes with cabbage salad, sour chicken mu, and a complimentary steamed egg dish. The steamed egg is cooked in batches for four tables at a time and sometimes arrives after the chicken is finished, and two elderly owners run the place, so fast service is difficult. The indoor space is poorly ventilated and the tables tend to be sticky.
