The Geoje POW Camp Historic Park in the Gohyeon and Jangpyeong area of Geoje shows both historical remains and museum exhibits. It presents outdoor displays on the Korean War and the lives of prisoners of war alongside the actual camp site, remains, and artifacts. The camp was established and operated by United Nations forces from 1950 to 1953, and held more than 170,000 prisoners at its peak. The site sits on hilly ground with many uphill sections, so some parts are difficult to traverse with a wheelchair or stroller.
