Heukseok Market

Heukseok Market is a traditional market in Heukseok-dong near Chung-Ang University, and it draws university students and local residents. It holds stores making jeon and tteok, along with banchan, vegetables, meat, and butchers, plus restaurants selling dwaeji galbi and naengmyeon. The market has formed since around 1945, and it has several banchan shops, tteok shops, and stores selling varieties of kimchi. Redevelopment of the Heukseok New Town has reduced the market's size considerably compared to before.
