Hyomokgol Makchang

Hyomokgol Makchang is an old makchang restaurant in the alleys of Hyomok-dong, near Dongdaegu Station, where pork makchang is grilled. Diners cook the pork makchang themselves on a griddle and eat it with makjang made with finely chopped chili and scallions, along with baekkimchi. In the evening the wait can run 40 to 45 minutes, with a line and no numbered tickets, and the space is split between the first and second floors. There is no parking lot, and indoor ventilation is weak, so smoke and noise become uncomfortable when the place fills up.
