Kim Myeongja Gul Gukbap

Kim Myeongja Gul Gukbap is an oyster specialist restaurant in the basement of the restaurant alley next to Hyundai Department Store in Samseong-dong, Seoul, serving gul gukbap along with dishes such as guljeon and kkomak jjim. The gul gukbap comes with plump oysters in a clear, deep broth, with rice already added, and can be ordered as a separate-soup version. At lunchtime it is very crowded and tables turn quickly, and the hoe naengmyeon portion is large enough to serve as a meal. The shop is old and the interior is worn, and the gul gukbap sometimes arrives lukewarm.
