Zannenshi are stones around the front and south of the Osaka Castle keep that were not used in the castle walls. The name refers to stones left over or dropped during transport by western daimyo when the Tokugawa shogunate rebuilt Osaka Castle in the Edo period. South of the keep, an explanatory panel and a large stone stand where two stones split off at Shodoshima were moved. Zannenshi are scattered in several places around Osaka Castle, so they cannot all be seen in one spot.
