Kitsuneya is a donburi restaurant in Tokyo's Tsukiji market that has been open for more than 70 years, serving gopchang rice bowls and gyudon. Its signature horumondon tops rice with chewy gopchang and a thick miso-based sauce, while the gyudon is simmered in a sweet and salty soy sauce seasoning. The shop opens at 6:30 a.m., and even when the line is long it moves quickly, so people often wait 5 to 30 minutes, order, and eat at the standing tables in front of the shop. The horumondon leaves a distinct intestinal aroma.
