Bongjeongsa Temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism sits on Cheondeungsan in northern Andong and is a UNESCO World Heritage mountain monastery. Its Geungnakjeon is known as the oldest wooden building in Korea, and the site also holds Daeungjeon, National Treasure No. 311, and a three-story stone pagoda from the Goryeo period. The grounds are small enough to walk in one or two hours, and visitors can get a stamp at the cultural interpreter's house at the entrance and hear a guided explanation if they arrive at the right time. Construction around Manseru is disrupting the visitor route.
