Yangpyeong Maeuntang is a maeuntang restaurant in Cheongpa-dong, Seoul, between Seoul Station and Sookmyung Women's University Entrance, serving freshwater spicy fish stew made with catfish and bagasari. The bagasari gives the broth a deep flavor, the catfish meat is soft, and the stew is cooked with freshwater shrimp, minari, and hand-torn sujebi dough added directly to the pot. It has a 50-year tradition and was featured on Suyo Misikhoe, and fried icefish can be ordered alongside, eaten as anju before the maeuntang comes to a boil. Parking space is limited, so visiting by car is inconvenient.
