Banditbulicheonmundae in Yeongyang is an observatory for viewing seasonal constellations. At night, visitors use a dome-shaped circular screen and an actual observatory telescope while listening to a guide's explanation. The site is surrounded by mountains, so after sunset there is little light besides moonlight and starlight. In late June and late August, the Milky Way and fireflies are visible.
