Daeheungsa, the head temple of the 22nd district of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, sits on the slopes of Duryunsan in Haenam and is a UNESCO World Heritage Buddhist temple. It holds Seosan Daesa's robe and bowl and a Muryangsu-gak signboard written by Chusa Kim Jeong-hui, and its Daeungbojeon hall stands apart beside a valley on the left. A cultural heritage stamp can be obtained at a container information office next to the temple office. The grounds are divided into a North Garden and a South Garden, with an unusual layout that has no central axis.
