Jeondong Cathedral stands at the western entrance of the Jeonju Hanok Village. Its red brick exterior and a large ginkgo tree are visible, and visitors often take photos in the front yard. The site is the first Catholic martyrdom site in Korea, where Yun Jichung and Gwon Sangyeon were martyred during the 1791 Sinhae Persecution. Entry is not permitted during Mass except for congregants.
