Jujeon Mongdol Beach in Ulsan is a coastal site where black pebbles 3 to 6 cm wide run along a 1.5 km shoreline. Visitors walk on the rounded stones instead of sand, hear the pebbles roll in the waves, and use the restaurants and cafes nearby. The name Jujeon comes from the red soil of the area and has been used as a place name since the reign of King Jeongjo in the Joseon period. On weekends visitors crowd the area, making parking difficult.
