Hwacheon Jogyeongcheol Cheonmundae is an observatory at about 1,000 metres above sea level near the summit of Gwangdeoksan in Hwacheon. It is a place to observe stars and the Milky Way, and on clear days to look out over the winding mountain ridges and the whole of Hwacheon together. People visit at night to see the stars, and during the day the surrounding landscape can be viewed quietly. The summit is cold, so a blanket is needed.
