Ginger&Star Cafe

Ginger&Star Cafe is a small cafe in Higashiikebukuro, Tokyo, about a 10-minute walk from the east exit of Ikebukuro Station, serving curry, cake, and drinks made with ginger. Its signature dish, takibi curry, layers a spiced curry of onion and minced chicken over multigrain rice and tops it with ginger and fried onions. The cafe offers more than 15 kinds of ginger ale, has power outlets and Wi-Fi, and takes French toast orders after 2 p.m. On weekends after lunch, the shop can be full, and after waiting outside for more than 10 minutes, food ingredients may run low enough that orders cannot be placed.
