Sushi Iwase

Sushi Iwase is a sushi restaurant a 6- to 7-minute walk from Tochomae Station and about 15 minutes on foot from Shinjuku. It centers on a traditional Edomae course that alternates sushi and small dishes such as kasugodai, kohada, and sumiika. The lunch omakase lasts about one hour and is served at an 11-seat counter. Seating can feel cramped, and when customers talk loudly the explanations of the sushi can be hard to hear.
