Shitennoji Chaya

Shitennoji Chaya is a Japanese-style cafe next to Shitennoji in Tennoji Ward, Osaka, serving matcha and hojicha drinks, warabimochi, and shaved ice. The warm warabimochi is made after ordering, and the matcha and hojicha shaved ice come with cream, red bean, shiratama, and a separate sauce. Orders are placed on a smartphone by scanning a QR code, and menus are available in English and Chinese. In the afternoon a line forms, with waits of around 30 minutes to an hour.
