Kaneko Hannosuke Mitsukoshi Taipei Xinyi A8 is a tendon restaurant in the B2 food court of the Xinguang Mitsukoshi A8 building, about a three-minute walk from City Hall Station. Its Edomae tendon tops rice with eel, two shrimp, scallop, seaweed and okra, served with a soft-boiled egg and a house sauce. Orders are placed by QR code, and black bean tea, pickled radish, burdock with ginger and shichimi are self-served at the table. Waits can exceed 40 minutes at busy times, and once the fried items cool the batter turns soggy and leaves an oily taste.
