Qingtian Tea House is a Japanese-style house teahouse in an alley on Qingtian Street in Taipei, where Taiwanese tea is brewed and served. Guests choose between Dongfang Meiren tea and high-mountain tea, and staff brew the first cup in the traditional way and explain how the aroma and flavor change from cup to cup. The building was originally a residence for professors at Taihoku Imperial University in the 1930s and was converted into the teahouse, so visitors can see the tiled roof, veranda, tatami rooms, courtyard and gallery together. Tea prices are high and a separate service charge is added.
