Köenji is a Chūō Line train station in Tokyo and the entrance to Köenji street, which connects to Shinjuku. Shopping streets run from both the south exit and the north exit, with vintage shops, cafes, and old restaurants gathered along them. The station opened on July 15, 1922, and orange Chūō Line rapid trains pass through on weekends and holidays. On Awa Odori event days, platform entry is restricted after 19:00.
