Joo Chiat Rd

Joo Chiat Road in Singapore's Joo Chiat area is a street lined with old shophouses in various colours, small boutiques and pet-related shops. Small restaurants, cafes and bars serving Vietnamese, Mexican and other cuisines stand along it, and there are many Peranakan buildings good for photographs. Peranakan House is about a 15-minute walk away, and in the morning there are many shaded spots so it is less hot. Early morning is a relatively calm time.
