Ya Kun Kaya Toast (Maxwell) is a cafe in Singapore's Chinatown, in front of the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, selling kaya toast and coffee. Its signature set pairs crisp toasted bread with salty-sweet butter, two soft-boiled eggs, and strong coffee. Diners add the soy sauce and pepper from the counter to the eggs and dip the toast into them, and the interior is spacious and clean. The taste is more ordinary than expected, closer to jam spread on toasted bread.
