Raffles' Landing Site stands along the Singapore River at Boat Quay, marking the spot where Thomas Stamford Raffles first landed in 1819. Visitors take photos in front of the white Raffles statue and look out over the river walk and the high-rise skyline. The white statue, erected in 1972, sits behind the Asian Civilisations Museum and was made the same size as the statue in front of the Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall. The single statue is the main draw, so there is little else to see.
